Jessie & Sarge | December 2025
There’s something undeniably magical about a wedding just days before Christmas. Jessie and Sarge’s celebration at the Gibson Island Club embraced the warmth and romance of the season without leaning into traditional holiday themes, creating a timeless winter wedding filled with candlelight, meaningful details, and thoughtful design.
Held just five days before Christmas, their wedding blended classic elegance with deeply personal touches that reflected the couple’s shared love of literature, music, and meaningful words.
A Candlelit Ceremony with Music to Match
Guests gathered beneath a clear-top tent overlooking the water as Jessie and Sarge exchanged vows surrounded by lush burgundy florals and glowing candlelight. The winter light filtering through the tent created a soft, intimate atmosphere for the ceremony.
One of the most memorable elements of the ceremony was the live choir performance. Their voices filled the space in a way that felt almost cinematic, adding an emotional and unforgettable layer to the couple’s vows.
It was a moment that perfectly captured the spirit of the day—elegant, heartfelt, and deeply personal.
A Literary-Inspired Paper Suite
Jessie and Sarge’s love of literature and music played a major role in the details throughout the wedding.
Their paper goods, designed by Madeline of MLC Designs, were crafted on beautiful handmade paper and featured carefully selected quotes chosen by the couple themselves. Each piece felt thoughtful and intentional, turning the paper suite into more than just stationery—it became part of the storytelling of the day.
From programs to signage, every printed element reflected their appreciation for words and meaning.
Burgundy Florals That Felt Rich and Romantic
Floral designer Floret and Vine created a stunning floral palette centered around deep burgundy tones. While the color naturally complemented the winter season, the arrangements were designed in a way that felt refined and romantic rather than overtly holiday-themed.
The florals added depth and warmth to the space, pairing beautifully with the candlelight and classic architecture of the Gibson Island Club.
A Maryland-Inspired Guest Gift Experience
One of the most thoughtful details of the evening was waiting for guests at their seats: individually wrapped gifts for every attendee.
Each beautifully wrapped box contained locally inspired items celebrating Baltimore and Maryland, including favorites like Old Bay seasoning, Berger Cookies, and Baltimore-themed coasters.
It was a warm and welcoming way for Jessie and Sarge to share a piece of the region with their loved ones and thank them for being part of their celebration.
A Winter Celebration Filled with Meaning
Jessie and Sarge’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that winter weddings can feel rich, romantic, and deeply personal.
Between the candlelit reception, meaningful literary details, live music, and thoughtful guest gifts, the entire celebration felt intimate and intentional from beginning to end.
