Krystal and I first connected at a local coffee shop and bonded instantly. Her energy was contagious and her plans were so much FUN. When we met, all she and Pat had was a date reserved at the breathtaking St. Mary’s Church, but she surely had a vision for the rest. Krystal and Pat care deeply about their friends and family and it clearly showed throughout every decision that was made during their planning process.

Krystal and Pat are Annapolis natives and wanted to bring all of their favorite people together in the town they loved most. We spent time finding the perfect waterfront venue leading us to the beautiful Chart House. Their menu was full of seafood from king crab to snow crab, sushi, and raw oysters – just to name a few. They offered a variety of meals to their guests, being sure they could accommodate everyone near and dear to them, and all of the offerings were incredibly delicious. Some guests even said it was the best meal they ever had.

You may be noticing all of the butterflies in her pictures and there’s a story behind them. Krystal had always loved butterflies. When she told me this, I gasped and said “I saw the most beautiful cake with butterflies the other day!” The cake was shared by florist, Stacy Bowen, who worked with Cakes by Jason in a styled shoot. I connected with Stacey, not to just ask her about the cake and how we absolutely needed all the recommendations on how to recreate it, but also to bring her on board as the florist for Krystal and Pat’s wedding. Thankfully, she was available and she quickly drafted designs, which eventually became reality and made all of Krystal’s floral dreams come true. My favorite detail from Stacy’s magical work was the greenery hanging at the grand entrance. Remember the styled shoot I mentioned? Well, Stacey just so happened to find the butterflies from that day and took it upon herself to add butterflies into the greenery on a whim the day of. When Krystal entered I said, “look up!” Her eyes widened and she was greeted with a personal touch that meant so much to her.

The butterflies continued throughout the design. From the invitations to the seating chart, and the place cards, everywhere we could find a place for butterflies, we did it. Kassy at Paper in the Park handcrafted the place cards and assembled the invitations exceptionally.

Photographer, Stacey Lee, captured remarkable photos that captured the purity of Krytal and Pat. I have many favorites but to start, Stacey captured Krystal surprising her father by wearing her mother’s wedding gown. Krystal & Pat’s choreographed first dance was one to remember! To say the guest went crazy is an understatement! Krystal and Pat hit every step and set the mood for the remainder of the night. It is so fun to look back and pictures and relive these memories, even as someone who plays such a small role in their journey as husband and wife.

As the night continued, Jacob from District Remix, kept the requests going and somehow managed to get the back-of-house team members at Chart House on the dance floor. Yes, his beats were that good and my goodness was everyone having a fun time!

And speaking of fun – Krystal has THREE outfits. Her traditional gown, a heirloom of the family, and two incredibly fun reception jumpsuits. Her personality matched her wardrobe choice perfectly!
