Jenny and Mike’s Gibson Island Club wedding was a timeless Chesapeake Bay celebration filled with elegant coastal details, heartfelt moments, and a classic navy-and-white color palette. Held on a warm November wedding day in Maryland, their wedding blended waterfront beauty with meaningful personal touches, creating a celebration that felt both refined and deeply personal.
Set on private Gibson Island, the couple chose Gibson Island Club for its stunning waterfront setting and classic East Coast charm. For Jenny, it was the perfect place to say “I do” along the Chesapeake Bay, surrounded by family, friends, and the natural beauty of the shoreline.
One of the most meaningful parts of the planning process was the collaboration between Jenny and her mother. What began as wedding day coordination with our team at Elizabeth Giles Events soon grew into additional planning support, allowing us to help bring their vision to life with care and intention. Their shared commitment to the details made the day feel especially thoughtful from beginning to end.
The ceremony took place outdoors overlooking the bay, framed by a romantic floral arch designed by Rhonda Kaplan Floral Design. Soft blue blooms, classic white florals, and lush greenery created an elegant ceremony backdrop that felt perfectly suited to the waterfront setting. With a dear friend officiating, the ceremony was intimate, personal, and filled with emotion.
The overall wedding design felt polished and timeless. Bridesmaids wore deep navy gowns that beautifully complemented the waterfront setting, while Jenny’s gown brought a clean, structured elegance to the day. Inside the reception, the design continued with navy napkins, gold-toned accents, soft neutral linens, and elevated floral arrangements, creating a look that felt classic, coastal, and distinctly tailored to the venue.
The reception at Gibson Island Club carried that same understated elegance. Round tables filled the ballroom, while tall floral arrangements and candlelight added height and softness to the space. The combination of crisp blues, white florals, and warm metallic details gave the reception a refined coastal feel without overwhelming the natural beauty of the venue.
One especially personal detail was the couple’s escort display, which featured a crab motif as a subtle nod to their Maryland roots and coastal-inspired wedding aesthetic. It was a creative touch that felt playful, personal, and completely at home in a Chesapeake Bay setting.
As the night went on, Affirmative Groove kept the dance floor full, bringing an energetic contrast to the day’s classic elegance. Guests celebrated with the kind of joy that made the entire evening feel warm and unforgettable. To close out the night, Jenny and Mike shared a romantic sparkler exit, surrounded by cheering loved ones, before making their getaway in the sweetest golf cart.
Jenny and Mike’s fall wedding at Gibson Island Club was the perfect reflection of what makes a Chesapeake Bay wedding so memorable: waterfront views, timeless design, meaningful family involvement, and a celebration that feels as beautiful as it is personal.
