This family 💕 I ran into this mother of my brides yesterday. We shared a BIG hug. I was so happy to see her and catch up. I helped plan both of her daughter’s weddings - Augusta and Ellie. Truth Bomb because I’m feeling sassy on International Women’s Day:

While I’m hesitant to post this, I’m going to say it. This industry can be so exhausting.

Not because of my couples. It’s because of vendors.

Some of my least favorite moments on wedding days or during planning have been from ill experiences with vendors.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been dismissed. Completely looked over. Is it because I’m not well known with a big following? Is it because you think I’ll micromanage you? I hate micromanaging. You’re hired to do something I can’t do. Shine bright while doing it.

I’m hired to work directly with vendors on behalf of my couple. I ask questions to avoid assumption, because believe it or not, every vendor operates differently.

It’s not hard to be nice. It’s not hard to work with other people who want to see you succeed. If I’m being honest, planners need you to succeed because we’re the first ones to hear it if there’s turbulence.

I used to refrain from telling my couples if I had bad experiences during their planning. I used to take the hostility from their vendors. But I’m not sure if I’m going to continue. I’ll let them tell you respect is expected. I’m asking the questions they want/need me to ask. I’m prospecting vendors they are interested in and have the budget for. They are investing in me just like they’re investing in you.

Wedding Planning is a huge responsibility. It’s months to years of manifesting and orchestration. It’s emotional. It’s personal. Please remember this as professional vendor in this industry.

Teamwork makes the dream work. ALWAYS.
